Halo, just ten years ago

Recently, while browsing some French Halo websites, I found this Halocreation.org chronicle (in French), written by Jefferson who tried to explain to the newest members how it felt to live the Halo Combat Evolved community ten years ago.
While I certainly did enjoy the idea, it was oriented toward montages and frags show off videos. I then decided to write my own vision of things about what it felt to discover Machinima and Halo videos in the pre-Halo2/xbox live era.

Doctor who?

Doctor's Orders is a Halo 3 machinima series directed by Brandon "Ash Winter" Prater from NewScape Pro. About ten minutes long, all three episodes mixes FX, ninjas and some nice non-Halo jokes. The story follows a pretty crappy doctor and his ~~maid~~ assistant Abbey from Arc District who have to deal with an evaluation. Meanwhile, the rookie Kory search for an internship which will lead him to this Arc District and the Doctor. (no, not him. That one in this story !)

Making of Change of Scenery: Posters

Impressive tool, the theatre mode offered some new ways to create machinimas. Linked to a powerful site like Bungie.net, it alows to take and upload high resolution picture very easily. Which is very useful to create galeries or posters for instance.
As its name suggests it, Change of Scenery is a real change and thus deserves some fine posters.

Making of Change of Scenery : fight scene

Change of Scenery’s scenario surprised some; the strange rhythm, the absurd dialogs, some subtleties here and there. The downside of this is that any unprepared audience might get lost in this labyrinth both logical and upside down at a same time. On the top of misunderstanding (or is it just tour own craziness?) lies the fight scene far away from regular Halo machinimas standards. Let’s try to take a look at what is really happening.
